Home of the Mount Gambier Italo Australian Club and International Soccer Club
Welcome to our club. We are pleased that you have decided to join us. We aim to make your club experience positive and long lasting for you and your family.
The Mount Gambier Italo Australian Club located at Casadio Park recognises the Casadio family for their generous contribution in gifting to the Italian community, a sum of money which was later used to purchase additional land adjoining the already developed Italo Australian Club, and the site which today houses our Western Soccer Pitch with purpose built new non-binary, change rooms, new canteen & bar facilities.
The Italo Australian Club honours the legacy of Lieutenant Anthony Casadio Royal Australian Navy, by having named its location ‘Casadio Park’, in recognition of the only son of an Italian Immigrant resident in Mount Gambier, Anthony died in August 1968 whilst undertaking a military operation at Nui Dat, Vietnam.
Mount Gambier Italo Australian Club
Steeped in history, culture and tradition the Mount Gambier Italo Australian Club has served the local community of Mt Gambier and surrounds since 1967, where upon the club was formed and the International Soccer team became the official team of the Mt Gambier Italo Australian Club.
The Club(s) purchased land at Moorak in 1969 with money raised by debentures from their members, and volunteer labour from members resulted in the build of the clubhouse.In 1970, the Italian Community unanimously decided to name the site”Casadio Park.
The Club now operates as an Incorporated Body under the watchful eye of the Board of Management.
